The NHL announced the Phoenix Coyotes would be moving to Utah for the 2024 – 2025 season.
They still have not released an official name, so I’ll beat them to it.
Why “Bandits?”
Utah used to be part of the Wild West, where the likes of Butch Cassidy, the “Sundance Kid,” the Wild Bunch, and many others took refuge in a place called Robbers Roost in Southeastern Utah.
Also because the people of Phoenix feel “robbed” of a hockey team they never truly loved or supported until they were gone.
Also, it’s super fu@*ing easy to chant: “LET’S – GO – BAND–ITS!!”
A buzz campaign to excite and infuriate.
OOH placements throughout Salt Lake City and Phoenix just to rub it in.
Sorry, Phoenix. It had to be done.
